Up for sale is vintage Getzen 950 with yellow brass bell. These horns are hard to find information on but this one has a manufacture date between 1976 and 1979.

7 3/4" bell, 0.495 bore with really fantastic slide action, and no wear on the inners. Bell has evidence of some creases being rolled out but other than that, there is only some wear on the lacquer. I would say original lacquer is about 85% intact. Has a nice, dark sound, slots well and even, and gets zippy when you push it.

I was hopeful this horn would be interchangeable with Conn small bores but it is not. This is a great horn for lead playing and small group stuff alike! Includes a great condition Getzen hard case and 12C mouthpiece.

Asking $400 OBO, shipped CONUS, international shipping available at buyer's expense. PM or email at nelson31600 (@) gmail (.) com.

Nice horn! Wonder why it got discontinued. Replaced by 1050 Eterna? Although that’s a .508

I wish I knew more about it. The 1050 is not really that similar. Regardless, this is a great horn for somebodty needing a small bore!

The 1050 was introduced after a change of ownership and complete redesign of their trombones, so few similarities.

I owned the red brass bell version of this horn (Getzen Eterna 950R), back in the 70's. It was (is) a fantastic horn. Sold it and bought it back...but didn't have much use for it...so I sold it again...really wish I hadn't. Amazing tone, and the slide was 11 out of 10. Per the OP, the 950 is a REALLY amazing jazz horn.
