Anyone got any good new or used medium bore trombones with a trigger they’re willing to part ways with?
Looking mainly at either Shires, Edwards or M&W but I’m all ears.

I stopped looking when I came across a near-mint Conn 79H (0.522" bore, Elkhart, 1970). I'm keeping it!

Brass Exchange has a nice Shires .525 that’s just appeared. Straight horn, nickel silver slide and 7YLW 8.5” bell, but Doug could sub in other parts of you wanted I’m sure!

Good point. I hadn’t thought about finding a straight horn I like and adding the valve.
I’d prefer an 8” bell vs 8.5” and I’ve seen a couple on Brassark but is a bit risky so hoping for a generous return policy if I can find a deal I can’t pass up on one.

Yea, I’ve seen a couple tempting vintage medium bore horns to try on BrassArk but are a little on the higher end on price.
I’m unfamiliar with vintage horns and what to look for and the trial/return policy for BrassArk is only a week and expects me to pay round trip shipping if I don’t keep it.
I might be willing to try if he covers shipping to me when I buy and I’ll cover return shipping if I send it back.
Will keep an eye out but have played mostly custom horns and Kimm would love to find a good deal on an Edwards since they don’t make 525 slides anymore but Shires or M&W (if someone would sell one…haha) would be nice too.

Just saw your post with pics. Looks to be in great shape & my buddy has suggested 36Bs for a medium bore as they are so versatile & consistently the best playing medium bore horns on the market in his opinion.
I had an early 2000s Bach 42BO and got me from middle school through college but if I'm being completely honest, trying to stay away from Bach or Conn and stick to what I like/know in Shires, Edwards & M&W as I've always had good luck with custom horns.
