For Sale: 1983 ishVincent Bach LT16M Tenor Trombone

This is PRE the modern open neck pipe and trombone with bells stamped 16M.

Serviced by Adrian Jarvis and ready to go.

No dents or dings.

Slide is superb.

Here is what Bach Say:

The Bach model LT16M features a 7-1/2" one-piece hand-hammered bell designed for excellent resonance and projection. The straight .509" bore lightweight nickel silver handslide design provides great control with a quick response. The open gooseneck provides an open feel with less resistance. The clear lacquer finish provides a subtle warmth to the overall sound. Preferred by legendary Jazz trombonist Bill Watrous, the Bach Stradivarius model LT16M tenor trombone is designed to meet the needs of the most discriminating artists.

This is a super versatile trombone, useful for a professional orchestral playing smaller / older repertoire, alto parts or second to an alto. Great for a jazz player or in Any chair of the big band or for a student stepping up and perhaps thinking of focusing on the commercial side of the business. Think of a King 3B but with more top spin!

If your a college student looking for a small bore this is it! You won’t find better.

It has some signs of wear but nothing extreme (see the pictures) and will come in a hard case.

I’m only selling as although I end up coming back to the 16’s I have a 12 and just don’t need both.

These trombones cost £3000 new, and this one will be better being from a better era of manufacture. How many people do you know who have a 1980’s Bach and sell it for a new one!

The instrument is in Ayelsbury just north west of London UK, you are welcome to Come and try it.

Looking for £1500 ONO.

Will of course SHIP anywhere at buyers expense.

Are you sure? I remember reading somewhere that while the first 16M’s didn’t have the stamp on the bell section they still had Bill’s open taper in the neck pipe, and they started marking the bells 16M later so people wouldn’t confuse the two. Could be misremembering though. I’m sure someone has talked about it on here before.

If it doesn't have the open neckpipe, then it's not an M. But Sam might be right in that if they came with the single bore LT .508 slide, then they came with the M neckpipe no matter what

Ok, well if this is correct, then this trombone must be that’s pre the “M” bell stamp. . . . The bell is original to the slide.
