It's time to pass along this remarkable closet find, a very early Corp. 36B built in the Mt. Vernon style, with an original Marston valve and Conn-style low trigger.

Some of these exceptional valves apparently made the trip from the Mt. Vernon plant to the Elkhart facility, where they were used in some of the earliest Elkhart horns (this example is serial number 89xx). The crumbling corks have been replaced with rubber bumpers.

I acquired the horn from it's original owner, who purchased it new in the mid-'60's, played it through his last two years of high school, then stashed it at his parent's house for over 50 years, so it's a true time capsule.

There are no significant dents or dings, and only very minor lacquer wear (pictured).

The slide is 8-8.5/10, and will almost certainly improve with regular use and cleaning.

Includes original case in very good condition.

Please email me at the address in my profile.

Thanks for having a look.
