"ProWinds" Not Responding to Order I Placed

I ordered a mouthpiece on Nov 14th from ProWinds phone line (live person) and paid for it with PayPal.

Every 2 days I try to call/email them asking for a status on when the order will be shipped.

Zero response...Nada...Nope.

Is something going on there that is causing this? Are they going out of business? Or just overwhelmed?

Any info is appreciated.

Thanks

I ordered a pro-tec gig bag from them in October. It took almost a month for it to ship and get to me. My guess is with your mouthpiece order that they are overwhelmed or understaffed.

Thanks for the info.

I continue to call and get voicemail. Dang it all!

My experience was similar to bwanamfupi's. I purchased my Protec marching baritone bag from "them" (whoever/whatever they are, have you noticed that there isn't any meaningful contact information on the (very pretty) web site?). My assessment based on that experience is that they don't stock anything, rather they have the products drop-shipped from the manufacturer/supplier as they receive orders. That sort of thing leads to delays.

After three weeks of waiting in the dark, my bag was shipped direct to me from Protec in California. This took another week to get to me.

I won't be doing business with them again.

Finally heard back from ProWinds. The mouthpiece is still at Bach. Evidently they do not actually stock them, With the switch to lead-free mouthpieces, they are saying Bach is backed up on shipments.

Guess I will not have my mouthpiece for the Christmas concert. Sigh....

Thing is, you have to know they don't have it in stock. The internet is full of drop-shippers masquerading as stocking dealers. "Sure, we've got it in stock!"

I ordered a Bach 7C.

I wish that the Sales Rep told me it was not in stock...the way he handled it let me to believe it would be shipped quickly. Only much later did I find out they are a drop shipper and take orders they don't have in stock and don't tell you.

A Bach 7C is a very common item. They are in stock in stores around the country.

Call ProWinds and cancel it. They never mentioned having to order it. If they resist, just contact your CC or PayPal.

Hi all

Here is the conclusion. After personally talking to the Bach Rep, ProWinds realized that Bach did not have any 7C Megatones in stock and could not provide a definitive date for production. I bought the other items and the money for the mouthpiece was refunded to me. I dealt with Dean, and would recommend him to any of you.

The whole process took over a month, but I am happy and will purchase from them again. However, I will use the phone to ensure the item I am buying is in stock.

Thanks,

Carl
