For sale is a very lightly used YSL-448G (.547 bore)from Yamaha. I am the second owner. I have only played it a few times in my house and decided that it wasn't a big enough difference from my Yamaha 640(.525 bore). I am going to replace it with a single valve bass, I think. It plays very nicely, slide is as good as any I have played. NO complaints on sound. The first owner was a high school student who used it as a "concert horn". He practiced on something else. It was played a handful of times and then serviced and decommissioned by a shop when he went to the Air Force. A few years later, his parents sold it for him to me. The only flaws I can find are minor lacquer wear. The most visible ones are on the neck pipe from the connection ring sliding on it. There are also minor scratches on the tuning slide bow and F wrap bow, but I couldn't really get them to show up on the picture. I can't find any dings or dents at all. From 4 feet away you would think it is new. Asking $1100 plus whatever actual shipping is. These are selling new at around $2200 right now. Could also arrange pickup in central PA or south eastern PA. Has a standard Yamaha 48L mouthpiece. Could also discuss a Benge 6 1/2AL-L mouthpiece if desired.
