I'm looking for a hymn trombone quartet score, and I'm looking for a book with various hymns written on it, like a collection of hymns, can anyone help me?

I had one by Mel Bay that was titled "Great Hymns". It was published in score form so everybody sees every part.

I use 500 Hymns For Instruments published by Lillenas

Bass clef, 4 part. Matches the Worship in Song hymnal. They also have other instrumentations. Spiral bound.

I too have used the Lillenas books, for our house we had the Bb instrument transposed book, primarily for trumpet but also has baritone TC, and had the F book for French horn, which also has Eb parts. I can read bass and treble clef so it worked for the trio in our house. Trumpet, euph, and horn sounded good from these books.

Sonny Ausman (retired 2nd trombone of the LA Phil) has a collection of them published in three volumes by Cherry Classics. There's also a really excellent recording that the section made of them. It's sadly a bittersweet record as it was done in two sessions and Steve Witser passed in between, so Ralph Sauer rejoined them for it. Really beautiful playing from everyone.

Robert Trimmers also recently published a giant book of Bach Chorales for trombone quartet via Cherry as well. I assume that's not quite what you're looking for, but they're really great as well.

The Mel Bay books are published by Hal Leonard. The usual suspect on line stores should have it.

I'm sorry for bothering you. I searched on the website to find the score, but I couldn't find the name "Mel Bay" maybe because I'm not good at it. But thank you for all your help, enjoy the rest of 2022!

It's possibly Out of Print. I can't check my copy to see more details.

Yeah, I'm sure this goes to Korea. Amazon does it, and Lillenas is associated with the Nazarene church, which has operations in Korea. You should be able to get it there.

We listened to a sample song and it's really good. I think it would be great to play it on a special day at church. Thank you for the good information.

You're most welcome ! They're really great- he did a really great job of covering all the keys, but not getting ridiculous and keeping most of it in more comfortable places. Same with range- there are some that get up there if you want, but most stay pretty comfortable. It's such a great book- I hope you enjoy!
