Here is an excellent playing Holton TR185 single bass trombone from 1974. :good: Horn is not a beauty queen but is a great player. Slide is very good with no plating wear. Horn throughout has scratches, evidence of minor dent repair, and lacquer loss/wear. This horn was made during the time Holton was replacing the TR185 with the 183. This one is stamped TR183 but it is clearly made from entirely 185 parts. Nothing resembles a 183 here. The leadpipe is press-fit and came from a donor TR180. The bell is 9.5" and gold/red brass. This is a great playing bass that is fairly lightweight and has good ergonomics. It was going to make a plug-in valve for it, but I don't think I will ever get to it. No case.

I believe you did... and sold it to Mrdeacon, who sold it to me. And I think he still has a TR185 that I sold him!

It was a nice horn. I had it in the US so that I had something to practise on when I visited my son and daughter in law. They were going to come to the UK so I sold it. Plans changed and they stayed, so I'll have to take another horn out next visit.

That's VERY sweet of you, Bill and I know you mean it. I should look through my rubbish and spread the junk around the planet a bit.<EMOJI seq="1f601" tseq="1f601">š</EMOJI>

I think it will be my Kanstul 1670.... Great blow but I cannot see what it would be better for compared to my other horns.
