Is there any love out there for this lowly 50H bell section? This came my way along with a Conn .547" slide, which of course doesn't fit the receiver. You will need the correct .522" Conn slide to fit this.

I was surprised to find that it is completely functional. The valve seals very well, with no axial end play, and both tuning slides move without any difficulty. The bumpers do need to be replaced (I'd do this for you, but I don't have any material). There is no red rot or any other sort of corrosion on the brass; there is very minor surface oxidation on some of the solder joints.

At some point in its life it's had the lacquer stripped, and has subsequently developed the patina that you see. Because of this, I have elected to not clean it in any way. I don't see any serious damage, but I do see a slight waviness to the bell rim (easily straightened, or just leave it alone) and a very few small dents in the tuning slide crooks.
