I would appreciate any info one could share on a Conn bass that I have. The marking on the joint where the slide and bell section connect says UNION LABEL LP BASS. It has a 9" bell and made of red brass including the slide. The bore is the same as my 62H. The slide bow is the tuning mechanism. The valve has mechanical linkage. the wrap is flat and in the same plane as the bell section. The slide connects to the bell section with just the taper, no threaded nut. serial # is139992. Thanks to all

Union Label horns were from the 1910's and predate the introduction of the H models. There is some good information on the History of the Conn Company by Margaret Downey Banks. You can find a link to it on the Conn Loyalist Web Site. While you are there, look at the New Invention model from 1911, which may look like your horn.

And here’s a later one that dates to 1917/18 also marked LP Bass.
