I am helping a friend deal with their father's estate. From this lot I have a beautiful Olds Recording R-20 for sale. Trigger, red brass bell and tubing with nickel silver tuning slide and trim. Nickel silver hand slide. Very striking instrument! Significant lacquer loss on the hand slide, only minor lacquer loss on the bell. No dents. Stockings look good. Slide works well. .495-.510 dual bore slide. 8.5" bell. Plays really nicely, with a darker tone than you'd expect given the bore. Includes coffin-style case. $700 plus shipping.

Reduced from $900 to $700. Owners need to get everything sold to close out the estate. Great instrument!

Do you know the serial number, or date of manufacture? Does it have the fluted slides? thx

The inner slide tubes are fluted. I'm afraid I don't see a serial number on the instrument, unless I'm missing something obvious? Where would I look on such an instrument?

found it! that's tricky. it's 7943xx which puts it, according to a chart I found online, late 1971 or early 1972?
