I just noticed Phil Ranelin has released a couple new albums recently. I stumbled onto his music thanks to John McEntire reissuing [url=https://www.discogs.com/master/149596-Phil-Ranelin-The-Time-Is-Now]The Time Is Now! on Hefty a while back. (Jeez, I guess it's been 22 years...) I never explored his catalog beyond that until now though.

There's one from 2022 called Infinite Expressions ([url=https://www.discogs.com/master/2551046-Phil-Ranelin-Infinite-Expressions]discogs) and he just put one out on the excellent Jazz is Dead label this year, too. It's pretty exciting to see, The Time is Now is a longtime favorite -- though I feel a bit dumb for not exploring his work any further until now!
