I just made a post about some cases I'm selling. This is the case graveyard I'm referring to...

User image

Pictured are, from left to right-

completely beat 3B coffin

completely beat King 607 wedge

1947 King 2B gator skin (this one was in PERFECT shape- but it was smelly. You all know the smell. I left it out in the sun to attempt saving it, and against all odds, it rained that day)

completely beat '60s King gator coffin :(

completely beat Holton 158 wedge

completely beat Bach small bore frenchie

perfect condition (well, it was months ago) Bach 50 shipping container

I also keep one of those original Protec bass monstrosities in the garage to mark where to stop the car.

What are you asking for the small Bach case?

Just shipping, but it's been sitting outside for probably 6 months... all the wood was separated when I got it or I would have kept it inside.

I don't feel so bad now after seeing this.

The rafters in my backyard shed are stuffed with antique, beat up cases.

If they are beyond hope, you should probably get rid of them before someone moves in (that plush interior might make a cozy nest).

Maybe see if someone like John Sandhagen wants the hardware?

I actually have a truck on order, the plan is to take them all to the dump when it finally shows up.

And if you look closely, the main latch on the coffin gator case is cut out- I sent it off to someone to replace theirs.

Too bad about the timing. I had an old Bach 50 that belongs to the University here fixed up a bit and converted to split triggers a couple of years ago and at the same time brought the beat-up case to a local luggage shop to salvage it. Your 50 case is in much better shape, and would have been a better investment if the price was right. A case like that isn't great for daily commuting, but is good for storing in an instrument room, for use by students making the switch to bass or trying to double, etc.

If it didn't take an 18-wheeler to move across country, I'd agree!
