WTS: A tenor sackbut hand-made in London by John Webb. I bought this new approx. 20-25 years ago, played it for a few years in early music groups, but have no need for it anymore. It is a copy of a 1690 Schnitzer Renaissance sackbut, and except for the plated inner slide, is faithful to the original. It is raw brass with no slide lock, bell lock, or spit valve.

Condition is very good, although there is a small dent in the bell. Slide works well, but is not as smooth as a modern trombone slide.

When I bought this, it was priced in-between the cheap Giardinellis and the high-end Eggers, and I think it also falls in the middle as far as quality and playability. (I had been borrowing a Giardinelli before this one arrived, and this is significantly better)

It includes a hardwood case, also crafted by John Webb, a crook that (I think) puts it at baroque A, and a period-correct mouthpiece.

$1600. plus shipping and PayPal fee. Located in NJ, will travel a bit to meet with an interested buyer. I would really prefer U.S. sale only.
