Hi,

starting to play in a reggae/ska band, I don't find the proper technique to make my trombone sound as I would like to (bright greasy copper) without blowing very loud on my trombone...

as on this huge skatalites song:

Any clues on how to do that?

Thanks :good:

High/forward tongue position, playing in the slot exactly, equipment that makes it easy to slot, no vibrato.

What do you sound like now?

It's kind of impossible to suggest a change... Change from what?

Post a video of yourself playing the same thing.

The player in that recording is not playing all that loud... probably in a studio, and it's not always possible to reproduce a studio sound when playing live.

Yeah thanks,

that's exactly what I needed. Tried that today, and it starts to sound great. Now I just need to practice a lot and that will be fine.

Thanks again,

and by the way, I really like your profile's picture
