YAMAHA YBL-321 vs YBL-322

Greetings,
Please I would like to know about the difference between these two old models. I cannot find much info on the internet. All I know is that both have 1 rotor only. Is the only difference that one comes with rose brass bell and the other no?

The bell material is the chief difference but I also can see there is a difference in style on how the slide was constructed. Both play well but the 321 has it for me. I let my 322 go to a student but kept the 321. You often hear the 321 referred to as an intermediate model. This is not correct because when it came out it was the only bass trombone they made and many professionals used it, it is possibly the most underatted bass trombone out there. If you only need one valve a 321 will represent the best value on the market as they dont fetch a lot usually... Doug

The 322 came out after Yamaha re-designed their slides: new cork barrels, ferrules, oversleeves, etc. So, the 321 slides looks like a 1970's Yamaha slide; the 322 has the more common style. I believe the 321 always had a red (?) brass bell; the 322 was available in either yellow or red brass. I have owned examples of each and they were very nice horns.

The flyer that came with my 321 lists mine as a Commercial Bronze bell. The 322 my school had years ago looked more like red/rose brass.

Commercial Bronze is 90/10 red brass.
The 322 may have been 80/20, or 85/15?
