Curious to see if anyone has any personal experience with the cap, as well as the differences between the standard cap and the Lexan cap.

I had some delrin ones made and they are WAY easier to clean. I don’t notice much of a difference playing. Can’t say for sure if your experience will be the same with Greenhoe caps.

I use the Lexan on my Greenhoe. Yes, it made a difference. Changes the frequencies and the resistance for me.

I made Lexan [acrylic ?] valve caps for the Instrument Innovations valves on my Butler C-12 from blank discs that I found on Etsy. They definitely made a difference although I only use one on the "G Flat" valve now. It is worth experimenting with the concept. YMMV --------.

For what it's worth (not very important here), Lexan and acrylic are two different plastic materials.

"Lexan" is GE's brand name for polycarbonate.

"Acrylic" is another material, usually referring to polymethyl methacrylate (pmma), often sold under brand names such as Plexiglas, Acrylite, Lucite, or Perspex.

They are both rigid, clear/transparent (unless purposely colored) plastics, that can be molded or (relatively easily) machined.

Also (probably a stupid question), does anyone know if the caps and retaining ring for tenor and bass the same?

For the Instrument Innovations caps, yes. They are interchangeable between tenor and bass.
