What are your opinions on the CR-E valve from Edwards compared to the Greenhoe valve? Both terrfic valves, just want to know their differences.

I own both.

The Rotax they used at Edwards were awesome. I have a bass and tenor with those. As I understand it, Edwards went in house bc there was a supply lag and QC problem with Rotax so they built a similar style in house version. I have a medium bore with the in house valve. It is a little smaller. The action is a bit quicker on the Edwards than Rotax. Very good but I like the evenness slightly better on the Rotax.

I also have a bass and tenor Schilke era Greenhoe. They are my all time favorite valves. Great sound, fast action, even blow, lovely valve sound when doing a natural slur.

All this stuff is subjective. I tend to prefer traditional roters to Axiel/Thayers. I look for evenness of blow and sound.
