When is a Classic Instrument no Longer

After decades layoff, practicing almost daily. Making huge strides. Finally found a mouthpiece that works for me. Problem, my constantly impinged shoulders fatigue very quickly during practice. Got a neotech and a counterweight, which helped but not much. Ordered an Ergobone, waiting. A King 4B f Silver Sonorous from the 70's is the culprit. Question, if I order a carbon fiber slide and maybe replace bell section with something lighter will it still have the same "juju" that I've absolutely adored since high school?

No. But, it may be worth just getting a lighter horn- those are a bit of a tank.

It's like a benign tumor, just can't get it out of my system. To be honest, I gotta little Getzen 3508 too. It only hurts 1/2 as much. But I love my whopper!

Ugh! So Sorry about that! I have shoulder impingement issues as well. For me it comes and goes. When its not there, I can hold up my 50T3 without aids no problem. But, when it comes I can't even comb my hair or turn the car on. Does yours hurt all the time?
