I'm curious as to why we can't restore the old posts, even if we lose the connections to current members.
I know you ran into problems trying to move forward linearly (through 3 separate upgrades) but is the old post database incompatible with the current forum?
Maybe we can build a "static" Forum with the old posts so the information isn't lost. The Static Forum could be Readonly if we don't want people using two different forums.

Tyler had mentioned the possibility of something like that but there are so few posts that it would probably be faster to recreate them by hand than it would to try to get the database working. It's also possible that there are incompatibilities with the posts as well. It isn't as far as I understand, as straightforward as a single table with posts and a single table with users, although I could be wrong about that.
I plan on looking into it when I look at the TTF backup I have in seeing what the best way to present those data.

Thanks, Matt.
I'd love to see a "readonly" Trombone Forum established since it appears Richard has made no progress in restoring anything. Wish he'd been more generous with his "keys" -- most of us Admins were only interested in keeping the thing going and not in prying into his economics.
