I knew Paul Abel from Ithaca College in the 1980s. I was just randomly cruising through a list of trombone sites, and I see that they have recently had a memorial service for him (at a former girlfriend's studio of all places). Paul was a bass trombonist and a repair tech in Rochester, NY. He has done work for me in the past, and I'm surprised to learn of his passing. He must have been under 60. Does anyone know the details of what happened to him? He was one of very few people I kept in touch with from my college days.
