Hi TC,
Looking for a YSL-645, .525 Bore, 8.5" Bell, with the long torpedo style Yamaha counterweight. Like[url=https://reverb.com/p/yamaha-ysl-645-tenor-trombone]this one.
Let me know if you have one of these, or know of someone who may be selling one.
Thanks!

I don't know of anyone, but I believe someone on here might be selling a 646 - same horn with a trigger. Nice horns.

Great horns! Had one some years ago. If I were in the market for a .525 this would be on the top of my list. Bit I have some old 36s lying around that are just... yummie

I did see this, but I actively avoid trigger horns for two reasons - one is the angle at which the horn meets my face results in a sort of unusual grip for me and makes having a trigger really uncomfortable, and two, I really like keeping the horn as light as possible because I’ve been playing more and more hours each day with less downtime in between teaching, rehearsals, and gigs, so I’ve become really sensitive to how much a horn weighs.

I’ve been on an older Yamaha kick for some time now, and so far have acquired a YSL653 (.500), 647 (.551), 641 (also .551, but with a red brass bell and nickel slide) and 691 (.508). I absolutely LOVE these horns, but ESPECIALLY the 647 and 641. These are the first large bore horns that I actually enjoy playing and feel comfortable with my sound on. But as a result of doing so much big horn playing it leaves me longing for a bigger horn when I go back to my 691. I’m really interested in the 645 because I want basically a smaller version of my 647.
BUT until I do... I’d love to hear more about your 36s that you have if you’re trying to part with one.
