King 3bf with a curved bell?

Hello, my daughters King 3bf has a slightly curved bell just like this one that just sold on goodwill. (curves to the left) Seems strange. My daughters horn does not have any damage that I can see and all of the solder joints look great. If somebody bent it, I can't see how they bent it and did not mess up another part of the horn.

So you think King made a curved bell on purpose and that's normal? I assure you that is not the case.

There's a big whack in the tuning slide. Might have been part of it.

Posting pictures of the actual instrument instead of one just like it would help.

I have bought a lot of horns that have been bent like that. A tech can carefully bend it back for you. Not a big deal. And you can have any other problems addressed while you are there.

I was able to inspect this horn before purchasing it. The slide is OK and my tech says the bell and few dents will come out nicely. Interestingly the horn included some high school band programs with dates to the 1970s. My guess is that it was an estate donation.

Is the bell bent? If so, it just seems strange it is bent in the same place as my daughters. Nothing else appears bent on the horn and all joints look like they are supposed to. I'll post pics of my daughters horn.

Pictures of my daughters horn. She's made the Florida all state jazz band with it. It's a great playing horn.

My original 3B bell got bent when someone knocked it off a chair. I immediately bought a good trombone stand...lost it...bought another one and now, my horns are safer!!
