Howdy all. I need suggestions for a good slide tech in the Southern Oregon area. I used to use Ralph Taylor in Roseburg, but he finally retired.

A couple of my horns could use having the slides cleaned and aligned and loved on in general.

Thanks!

I don't know what classifies as southern Oregon, but Graham Middleton in Salem used to build slides at Shires. I'd trust him with any slide.

I second the recommendation for Graham. He’s worked on my horns for the past 5 years or so. He has done work on my slides, including my 28-year-old 42, and my Bach 50 slides from the 70’s and 80’s.He rebuilt my bass by adding new valves, refitting the custom-open wrap, and adding new bracing. He does very nice work.

So, I just learned that Graham will be out of town for the next 6 months. He’s subbing in the Vancouver BC orchestra.

I've also had Graham work on several instruments, and I highly recommend his work. He is a busy guy though, and instrument repair is not his only gig. Luckily I'm rarely in a hurry.
