Up for grabs is a 4CL (large shank, tenor mouthpiece), which has been modified (cut, threaded, matched, and plated) by Bob Reeves' shop, so that it fits Doug Elliott XT rims. These mouthpieces have very interesting designs, which have been discussed in some detail on various threads here previously:

The 4CL has a relatively large throat (0.307" / ~7.8mm) for a tenor piece, combined with a tight/focused backbore taper and a moderate cup depth (roughly 6.5AL-ish). The result (for me - ymmv) is that you can really push this piece hard and get a ton of volume out, but it also makes soft playing easier and provides great presence in pianissimo passages. The thing that seems most polarizing (folks seem to either love it or hate it) about the stock versions of these is the rim profile, which is very round and thin. But, that's exactly what has been changed on this piece - now you can try your favorite DE XT rim (or a rim with similar threading, like Parker/Houser) on a very unique underpart design.

Mostly interested in selling, but open to trades as well.

Underpart only - SOLD
