I just purchased a king 2102 2b tenor and was hoping I could get some assistance in figuring out its age. The serial number is

5 594489. According to hornucopia the 5 before it means from 1996-2000, but the serial number itself shows between 1976 and 1977. Which would be more accurate?

If it says 2102, then the late '90s makes sense. That designation wasn't used in the '70s.
