Horn Comparison!

Hi all!
I just acquired a nice Yamaha 643-II off of @arpthark and wanted to do a quick comparison with my main horn. I think Yamahas are quite undervalued, and great horns for students to learn and progress on. It was really fun to listen back and hear the difference between the two horns - on a cell phone recording I can even some people preferring the $400 horn to the $5,500 horn! Although I think in the room the difference is a little more obvious.

Nice! I've wondered about that generation of Yamaha horns but have no experience with them. I would also agree that what comes out of the bell is different than what the player hears. Have you considered doing something similar with a Benge 165F?

I actually have one of those back in Brooklyn! Maybe I will down the road - I just had the inspiration today and had just taken the Yamaha out of the case for the first time, so I thought I'd role with it.
