For sale are two bell flares that can fit into existing Bach 6, 8, 12, or 16 chassis.
First is a Corp era 16 for $350. This is a great bell with most of the lacquer still intact. There’s a small dent above the stamp which I tried to show in the pictures. 7.5 inches with the usual one piece, steel bead configuration.
Next is a custom Miles O’Malley bell flare for $400. Miles made this to my specifications - it is 7.8 inches across, quite thin, and has a brass wire. It’s VERY responsive, unlike any one piece bell I’ve played (ultimately why it didn’t work for me - I like the traditional heavier Bach bells with a steel rim). It’s really comfortable though, and great for mic playing and small group stuff. This one is unlacquered and in great condition aside from the normal staining of raw brass.
I’m open to offers on both of these, so please reach out if you’re interested, or just want to talk small bore Bachs! I’ve done a lot of experimenting with them.
Buyer pays shipping costs, US preferred but open to int’l.
