Putting out feelers to see if anyone has some unneeded Bach parts lying around for a potential (and ultimately very un-Bach) project.
Basically, I need a bass trombone bell section, minus the bell and main tuning slide - aka the slide receiver through the end of the gooseneck. The only real requirements are as follows:
- independent valves that don't suck
- the end of the gooseneck where the lower tuning slide leg plugs in is Bach 50-sized
- cheap (at least relative to the current cost of a used bass trombone)
Doesn't have to be a 50, in fact 613H parts would be even better. Just has to mate up with a 50 tuning slide.
I'm not going to buy a whole Bach 50B3 just to cannibalize it for parts, especially at the current prices used bass trombones go for. This project isn't worth that, so unless I come across a totally trashed 50 that has intact valves and gooseneck and is selling for scrap money, parting it together is the better option. I'm happy to buy one component at a time rather than all at once, like if someone has a spare 50 gooseneck lying around and than any old valve pair will do.
