These were generally made in the key of G. Parts were written in transposing treble clef.
The single valve is usually the equivalent of a 1st valve: a whole tone.
G bugles went from single valve to two valves and are now 3 valves but in Bb.
It's an obsolete instrument, but can still be fun to play.

Yes, I'm pretty sure I have a Bach 3 (not 3G) I tried it with, so any small shank mouthpiece fits..easy enough to check that for confirmation.
