Hi all,
I have a few mutes for sale. They're kind of beat up, and could all use a re-corking but they work-that's the important part, right? All for tenor trombone. Please email me for pictures and details.
* Jo-Ral Straight- Pretty ugly. You aren't going to get a whole lot of compliments on your sweet new mute, but it does work and it sounds good. I have used it recently as the low range on it is great and it's one of the only mutes I've found that can play super loud without sounding like fingernails on a chalkboard. Missing a cork, a couple dents. Personality 10/10, looks 3/10. $20 plus shipping.
* Jo-Ral Adjustable Cup- Same as above, but maybe closer to a 6. Needs new corks and stuff, but it still plays well (Used it in concert last month, even). You know the ringlet stickers you use to repair the holes on loose-leaf notebook paper sheets? I slapped one right on the front of it like 6 years ago so that you don't have to (Everyone has the same mute, so I put it on to tell mine apart). $40 plus shipping.
* H&B Straight-The red and white one. The vanilla ice cream of mutes. This is the most normal straight mute ever. It does everything you expect a straight mute to do-it is straight, it mutes the horn. I guess you could put new corks on it if you want it to have pristine corks, but it is completely ready to go as is. Your trombone section will be whelmed with this mute. $10 plus shipping
* H&B Cup-It is basically the same thing as the mute above, but with a cup on the end. It looks and sounds like a cup mute should. I don't really have a whole lot more to say, most people have played on one at some point and they are kind of the most standard cup mute out there. $15 plus shipping
