Getzen case handle repair - worth it?

This is my old Getzen bass trombone case. These cases are solid but heavy. I'm not sure if it's worth giving it some love. The handle is pretty much the only thing wrong, everything else is OK.

Just to keep it out of a landfill, I'd suggest checking with a luggage repair place, and get a quote. That shouldn't be too much. If nothing else, that case could be used to store an extra horn, or bell, etc. It could save you some repair dollars later by not leaving spare equipment out in the open, where it can get knocked over. There are good alternatives for everyday use.

Allied has a replacement handle for that. Actually, they make two, but one does not have the steel reinforcement loops. The one with the steel reinforcements is almost identical to the Getzen original equipment. After all, Allied, Edwards and Getzen are all owned by the same company.
Your local tech should be able to order the steel reinforced handle from Allied. Many shops keep a few of them in stock.

It's an easy fix. Just order a new one, as Brian suggested. They are also available on ebay, at least they used to be, or from a luggage supply store.
If you can find an old American Tourister suitcase, maybe one that someone is throwing out or giving away, with a little bit of work prying open the buckles holding the handle you can use that handle as a replacement.

Yup. Part numbers are A605 or A607. Check your local shop. Should be cheap.
