I have a 1961 Holton Galaxy that I love, but the original 1961 case is just an abomination.

Does anyone have any experience with good hard cases? Eastman or Crossrock look good to me but I don't know how they'd fair with such a small 7.5" bell.

Crossrock seems a better overall case. It does fine with a small bell. The bell area for the Eastman is smaller, but I have both brands, and the Crossrock is a better case.

It seems like when the time comes I'll probably go with the SKB 360 or the Gator equivalent. ...maybe the Crossrock if I'm feeling saucy. It seems a little silly to me to pay more for a case than what the horn itself is "worth".

I had an old Holton Collegiate that came in a Conn "Wedgie" (the one used for the 78H or 8H). You could also use the case from an Olds Ambassador.

You might look at the plastic case for the King 606 or Conn Director.

Second on the SKB. Use one on my King Tempo with the smaller bell and it works great.

About 6 months ago I got this Marcus Bona Jazz case from the horn Guys. Bona says it fits up to an 8 inch bell, but the Horn Guys say up to not quite 8 inches. They say it fits thes horns well: Bach 6, 8, 12, 16, Conn 2H, 4H, King 2B, 2BL, 2BPL, Shires MD, Yamaha 897Z, XO 1632. I have my XO 1632 in it and it is PERFECT.
