I bought a very well preserved Trombone from the 30s from the famous company Antoine Courtois, Paris. Unfortunately the slide is not good enough to have real fun playing it, while the sound is amazing. I took some pictures from the slide and would like to hear, what can be done. I‘m ready to invest some hundred Euros in the repair. Maybe I’m using the wrong gliding material - I used my Yamaha Oil.
Best wishes, Matthias

Hey Matthias
For old slides such as this you need to use Trombotine, you will get a much better result.
Also just an inexpensive but professional cleaning of the slide at a repair shop, combined with the Trombotine will do wanders.

I just acquired something with similar / identical bell stamp markings. My instrument tech has a great sense of humor and enjoys a challenge. He has mine now and is assessing it for slide work and a dent-ectomy.
