I live in Cleveland and would like to get my old 4B-F serviced, cleaned and stripped/relacquered if not totally overhauled. Does anybody know about Beeman Brass Works in Eastlake near the old King (now Conn/Selmer) factory? I've never heard of them.

Isn't Beeman the company doing the HN White restorations, with the awesome silver/gold work on the silversonics but in other cases ghastly colored lacquer?

A buddy said they took over Borodi's, and Borodi used to do that, so looks like it is the company you are talking about.

Yes.
Whether or not the colorful lacquer jobs suit one's personal tastes, they really do great work there. I have not used them personally, as I have someone more local with whom I am extremely happy, a few of my friends in Cleveland swear by them. As I understand it, they are also particularly popular with tuba players from all around the world seeking overhaul or restoration services with a year+ long waitlist.
