I can’t believe there isn’t a thread here for office photos, but I can’t find one so better late than never. Post ‘em here.

So, I wouldn’t be absolutely certain of this, but I may be the source of the “here’s my office!” Social media posts. I had a summer gig as a trombonist and principal librarian at a resort. The stage never changed for the entire summer and we had a ton of variety. Since I had to have not only my music, which I’m a typical day had three performances and two rehearsals each with a totally distinct set of music… but also set lists, other musicians music, stage instructions, etc. I built myself a custom shelf that was stage appearance okay to hide some of the chaos. I would put the various folders I had, mutes, mouthpieces, pencils, stand lights, my bow tie, my concert black crocs (nobody noticed <EMOJI seq="1f60e" tseq="1f60e">😎</EMOJI>). All that the audience could see was a small box on the stage! But it was attached to the stage and also used space below the risers, so it was quite voluminous. Also had a trombone stand attached, bolted to the stage so rock solid and took up virtually no space.
When I finally finished building it, I took a picture of it and said something to the effect of, “office for the summer!” Because it actually quite resembled an office! The drummer, who was a student at UNT at the time saw it and did something similar. Then I started seeing it all over the place!
Anyway, I might have delusions of grandeur. Butter office that summer was deluxe. I’ll have to see if I can dig that picture up and post it here.

Yes, to be precise it's an 88ht with the thinner bell more like the old Elkhart bells.
Compared to my Elkhart and the regular 88ht I have, this one plays even easier - perfect for gigs - but has a bit less of that special character.

This was the office for a rehearsal of Wellington Opera's season of Tosca last month! So exciting to get the beast out for a proper gig.

This brings back a lot of memories. I was one of John Rojak's subs on the original Broadway production when the show ran 3:20 - the first act was 1:45. John would be at Aspen with the ABQ for the summer, and he would offer two weeks each to those of us in his sub pool during his leave. I was offered the Pamphlet B tour and was on the road for a few years, traveling throughout the US. 8 shows a week, usually Tuesday-Sunday, doubles typically on the weekends, then back in the car on Monday to the next city unless it was a multi-week run.
If the distance between cities was such that the set trucks needed an extra day, the 8 shows would be Wednesday-Sunday, with doubles on three days, often Wednesday and the weekends..then possibly off to the next city on Monday.
In larger cities, often the local musicians would do the run, so we'd head home for a while, then back in the car to rejoin when the company returned to weekly/multi-week stops. When I'd be back home in NYC, John would have me back in subbing. Once summer, my return home was during his Aspen time, so he slotted me in for two weeks. I had been out for a while - 14 weeks, came home on a Monday, then started the two weeks on Broadway on Tuesday. My colleagues knew I was out with the tour, and it was nice to catch up - enjoying my streak, since the regulars can sub out often while those of us on the tour did every show. I had done 112 shows over 14 weeks with the tour, then two weeks on Broadway which came to 128 shows.
You learn a lot about your playing although it feels like Groundhog Day. And, I understand what Malcolm Gladwell wrote, “ten thousand hours is the magic number of greatness”..ah, I'm not great, but I understand the ten thousand hours..
Time for some long tones....
