Marching with Ergobone

Is it possible to march with the Ergobone? When I look at films how it's attached to the trombone, it looks like it wont work for example with taking the horn down synchronized with others, since it is screwed on. Or is there a way? I would really like to try it with my bass trombone, but mainly for marching then. The Get a grip is still enough while sitting down.

Sort of. You can have a belt that it hooks into, but you really won't want to be whipping a trombone around with an ergobone attached to it. If you were only standing "at attention" and "playing" it could probably work though.

I personally wouldn't do it. It's supposed to go to a holster that rests on your stomach. Marching with a bass bone is bad enough, but mixing the bass bone with an ergobone can't be an improvement. I mean, you can probably do it, but the risk to your teeth and chops for the reward of marching with a bass bone is not in my book anywhere near worth it. Maybe you can use a large bore tenor with a valve and a big mouthpiece. Or a 4V euphonium.

Thanks for confirming! I may get the Ergobone anyway, but then at least I won't be disappointed when I find out it´s not suitable for marching.

Jukko at ErgoBrass might have a suggestion for marching while using the ergobone. Might be worth emailing him to ask.

If you're moving, I don't think it would be viable.
