Lately I’ve been checking out some of the online instrument retailers. The King 2b, 2bl, 3b are priced at $3,000. The King ktb301 is an updated 606, still with a .500 slide and 8 inch bell, now comes with a nickel silver slide, priced at $1,800. As far as I can see the only difference between the 301 and the 2b-3b are the curved bell stay, 7.35 inch bell and fancy engraving. So I wonder, $1,200 difference, what am I missing here?

The 606 is on a student chassis, way narrower tuning slide and bell stem. They are not nearly as good as a good 2B.
