Thanks for the tip Doug. My suspicion is that its a bot whose intent is to try to build a model for emulating human interaction and it... isn't quite there yet. sent them this message and a warning:

You are violating our TOS by posting off-topic posts. This will be the 5th post that has nothing to do with the thread you posted in. Please respond with a little information about your musical interests and why you want to continue to be a member in the community so that we can evaluate whether or not to keep your account active.

I think sending a reply like that will only show them how to better emulate an actual member. It's pretty obvious (are 5 off-topic posts enough?) that it's not a real member.
