This is a very unique Bach StradivariusModel 12 because the bell was constructed with sheet brass and soldered in a cross as described in a screen shot that I have posted on Imgur. This screen shot was taken from the Brass Ark website that is owned by Noah Gladstone. I never knew Bach made 2 piece bells on their strads but this is one! When I purchased the instrument it DID NOT have a matching slide or case so I did the best I could and found a 1976 Model 12 corporation case and slide to go with the bell. As a result this is an instrument that plays beautifully in all registers and has a gorgeous warm sound. It is an awesome section horn!
I always try to give a complete honest and accurate description of horns if and when I sell them. So …here goes… This case is a french style corporation case in like new condition. All of the snaps, latches and hinges work to perfection. There are NO wear marks on the corners anywhere. The slide is an 8 out of 10. I was going to find a professional to work on some very small, minor exterior tubular dents and free up the action. There are NO wear marks on the inner slide tubes. The serial number for the slide is 19650. The slide has 90 % of its original lacquer finish. The bell is in raw brass. The specifics are included on the shop card. There is a dent on the tuning slide which moves freely. There are very small, minor dents here and there on the bell but nothing bigger than a nail prick. The bell has NEVER had a kink. This horn PLAYS!!
The selling price for this instrument is $2000.00 plus shipping and insurance. I do accept PayPal. I would prefer to ship to the CONUS.
This is a once in a lifetime chance to own a very unique instrument. I doubt there are any other bells out there like this.
