Before I bother to send an email to them, does anyone know if you can get info like the Bach shop cards on King horns from Conn-Selmer? I was able to get a shop card on a Bach 16 a while back (<EMAIL email="shopcards@connselmer.com">shopcards@connselmer.com</EMAIL>) but not sure if they have the some kind of info on King horns. I have what appears to be a custom horn that I'd like to get some more information on if possible.

what horn is it? depending on the era it's from, it certainly can. the older the horn, the more likely it was to be a custom. there was a time that most of the manufacturers would make all sorts of custom horns. What specifically are you wondering is a custom feature?

if you dont mind, post a few pictures of the parts and around the attachment/mounting points and some of the more keen eyed repairmen on here can identify if it was a really good modification opposed to custom factory job

While I got some good info in response to my original query, I'm curious if there may be more specifics in the King records for this particular horn such as the specs, production year, was it kind of a prototype Jiggs as suggested, or any other interesting history.

The logo you show dates no further back than the 1950s, and no horn since then has a 5 digit serial (King went from 999999 to 100000 in the late 1990s.

I wouldn't hold my breath for a shop card.
