I recently found this trombone listed for sale and it doesn't match any model on the H.n. White website, or anything I've seen in the catalogs. I was wondering if anyone on here knows what it is? The seller said the serial number is C50004, but it looks most closely related to their trombones of the late 20s.

Looks like a new proportion utility, late 20’s the precursor to the Liberty/2B.

One their first models with bell tuning.

That model would have a flare thing on the tuning slide and the curved bar in the outer slide brace, this lacks both of those features. The cork barrels on the improved proportion are also straight, and these flare out a bit.

The curved bar was dropped for the Improved Proportion models (11xx?). I have an 1115 from 1930 that has no curved brace on the inner slide.

King made families of models with different bore sizes. Most common would be 0.485" or 0.500". I guess the OP will have to wait for delivery to really find out what he got.

The other thing with the improved proportions is they have the flare thing on the tuning slide and the straight cork barrels, both of which this example lacks. Were those also changed at some point and never shown in a catalog? I also have not visually seen the serial number so it could have been read wrong.
