The grip on my 6H is a little rough on the sides of my fingers. Anyone have any suggestions for a grip that would be smoother and a slightly smaller diameter?

Edit: I wasn’t clear with the original post. I’m looking for the grip on the outer slide. It’s the fingers on my right hand that have the problem.

While I'm not sure it's a smaller diameter, you could look into the "wise-grip." I added one to my main horn and it feels so much more ergonomic than the L shape the tubing is in.

If you don’t like the texture of the socket on the 6h hand slide brace, you could have someone replace the brace with smaller diameter stock and smoother sockets, or even make a one-sided socket brace so that your slide is still align-able, but you don’t feel the transition from the brace stock to the socket on the bottom side. Some of the “student” Yamaha braces are like that, where one side is just the brace tube brazed directly onto the flange.

Actually, the ysl345 brace is setup just like that except the socketed side is on the bottom tube, so have a tech swap yours for an upside-down 345 brace and you’re in good shape :P
