This Shires .500-.508 bore trombone is a great jazzer, pit orchestra and small chamber horn. It is one of the easiest playing horns I’ve played. It responds quickly and plays evenly in all registers. It has it’s own sweet tone vibe going.... that is a nice Bachish tone in low to medium volumes that does brighten up when pushed.
The bell rim has some minor acid bleed, but the lacquer is very nice and intact. There’s just a very few scratches here and there and a couple of very minor mute dings.
The slide is very good throughout all positions (8.5-9/10)
- 7.75” S7YLW yellow brass, lightweight bell
-1.0 yellow brass tuning slide
-Standard size yellow brass tuning slide (has some wear and a small ding, it plays bigger than the 1.0)
-Shires Counterweight
-.500-.508 Bore T00-08NLW nickel lightweight slide w/ T02.5 and T03 leadpipes
The horn comes with an older, lightweight, strong, fully functional Protec case.
