I'm re-furbishing a case (unknown brand) and asking a favor of Olds, King, and any other small-medium bore horn owners that may have an instrument with a shorter-than-average slide. (No Bach, Conn, Selmer; I have already determined they will not fit)

Could you please measure and post the total slide length from the top of the tenon to the tip of the rubber bumper?

Also, the length from the main bell brace to the edge of the bell would also be appreciated.

King 3B+ (1980s)

Bell Diameter 8.125"

Slide Length Neck Pipe to Bumper 32". Mouthpiece Receiver to Bumper 31.5"

Slide Width at Mouthpiece 4.125"

Bell to Center of Bell Brace (1st Brace?) 12.5"

Bell to Back of Tuning Slide with Tuning Slide in 27"

Width at Bell Brace (1st Brace) 6"

My horn was sold to me with a Soft Sided Reunion Blues Bag. Its a nice bag but I do not like having to take the slide sleeve and Slide out to put the Bell in and out. Nor putting the Bell in first as you have to put the slide in the sleeve and set it somewhere. Also I have not shipped it nor traveled with it and would be nervous to trust it to protect my horn.
