The new gen of silent brass has always been my favorite practice mute. With or without the electronics. But it only works for tenor. On bass you have to use the older bowling pin style. But i didn't have one, so I've used the Shhh mute, which is very nice. Light, plastic, no dents decent response.
Until now. Last week I saw an adapter on ebay that allows the small silent brass mute to be used in a bass bone. Order direct from Japan. Very nice personalized note came with it.
Brilliant. One practice mute fits both tenor and bass. Saves room in my mute cabinet. Sits flush in the bell. Doesn't get dented. Anyone want to buy an excellent condition bass Shhh mute?
