Hi everyone!

I was gifted a Marcinkiewicz George Robert’s mouthpiece made in Glendale. It’s an amazing piece but there aren’t too many threads talking about the specs for these pieces. Most information I’ve found just says “slightly larger 1.5G” for the specs.

What do you guys think about them? Are the Marcinkiewitz GR pieces as good as other copies of George’s mouthpiece? It sure plays great!

I’d love to pick up Bob Reeves Mr.Bass piece in the Mercury blank to compare.

I played the Marcinkiewicz GR mouthpiece for a few years. It also was called #2. The #3 was a 1½ G size, 2 a little larger, and 1 larger still. I think the 1 was around 1¼ G size so I guess the GR would be 1 3/8 size.

Approximate specs for Marcinkiewicz "Geo Roberts" (~= Marcinkiewicz 1½G):

Rim I.D. ~27.30mm (1.075"); Throat 7.04mm (0.277"); Cup Depth ~30.56mm (1.203")

Perhaps comparable to Bach 1¼G?

Nice.

#2 and #3 are the same width, but the #3 is shallower.

I have both a GR and a #3 Marcinkiewicz. The rims are identical-- cup is deeper on the GR.

Current Marc website lists doesn't have a GR, but i believe that the Marc 1 1/2 is supposed to be the same piece. I prefer both the GR and the #3 to the Bach 1 1/2 G that I own.
