Can anyone recommend a shop in the NY/NJ area for re-lacquering?

Probably Dillon Music in Woodbridge NJ or Landress Brass in NYC would be your best options.

Dillon Music does not re-lacquer in-house, but will prep it (dent removal, chemical cleaning, etc.) then send it out.

They used to send some of their lacquer work to Mizell Music in Hagerstown MD. Sadly, he has retired.
He was the only person I trusted my horn with for over 30 years when I lived in West Virginia.
