trombone and mouthpiece matching

I've read and heard a lot about getting a mouthpiece that "fits" you and also "suits" the trombone, and that makes sense., but what about if you've already found your ideal mouthpiece ? One that's so comfortable, easy to play and with a great tone. Would it then make more sense to find a trombone to match the mouthpiece rather than the other way round avoiding another mouthpiece quest ? Has anyone ever done that ?

Indeed, Bruce. Particularly because I'd probably end up with the trombone equivalent of a drawer full of mouthpieces.
By the way, this post is me thinking out loud rather than anything too serious. Interesting concept, though.

I think modular mouthpieces combined with removable leadpipes are very successful in matching whatever horn to a particular player. $xoo vs $xooo. I find a horn I love then worry about the mpc. DE stuff always performs.
To me, a perfect fit mouthpiece is always a given. Great horns are less easy to find.

hyperbolica, I think you're absolutely correct.
