[color=#000080]Does your instrument have an interesting story or history behind it?
I bought it off eBay for not a lot of money. I’ve had a fair bit of work done to it since, but trombones didn’t used to be all that expensive and I got it imported from the States. It turned up and I am lucky enough that it’s still doing me fine 20 odd years later.
So much for the idea of needing an expensive boutique instrument (or even a stable of them) to succeed.

That does look like an instrument innovations valve, so not minor changes.

It's a Greenhoe 88H, that is an expensive boutique horn!

He has had a valve added to an old Elkhart Conn. Why would he lie about getting his trombone?

Looks like a Greenhoe conversion to me. He probably got it off eBay like he says.

The early 2000s were great times for Europeans wanting to purchase American trombone equipment. I bought a gen II Conn 88HT brand new for around €1500 in 2003.

Genuinely curious. Was Vicente Climent (sp)? not offered the position after his trial run?
